Wanaka Cycle Trails

This is a very popular bike trip due to the stunning lake and mountain views in this area.

Our Mini Vans leave from the Leviathan Hotel, Dunedin at 8am on the first day getting to Wanaka around lunch time.

There you will be fitted up with your bike (if you are hiring one) and after spending two or three hours exploring Wanaka, ride the very stunning lake/river track to Albert Town, which is around 10km to where we are staying at the Zula Lodge for the four night duration of our trip. From there we will be doing day rides that will include the cycle tracks to Hawea (Grade 1-2) following the Hawea river, Glendhu Bay (Grade 2-3) which has fantastic views of Lake Wanaka all the way and Luggate (Grade 2) riding down one side of the mighty Clutha River and after lunch riding back the other side. Each days riding will be around 40km and are reasonably easy going on gravel tracks and achievable by all age cyclists provided they have a good bike fitness. On the last day we will do a shorter ride and end up in Wanaka around lunch time to return our hired bikes then board the mini vans back to Dunedin.

Hire bikes will be picked up at Wanaka. Each bike will be adjusted to suit the rider, and named individually. You will be contacted closer to your trip, when we will request details about your height and hire payments etc. The bikes are very good quality and regularly serviced and will cost $176.00 for the four days. Helmets are included. Soft tail and E bikes are also available at a little extra cost.

For those with their own bikes we can transport them from Dunedin and back.

We will have a back-up person to assist and carry luggage and meet us each day with lunch plus two cycling leaders to give low key assistance.

Breakfast each morning and lunches will be provided on the three day trips and we will have our four evening meals at the Albert Town Hotel which is across the road (price included for set menu.)
